Real Classroom Experience.

Real Math Resources.

Hi! I'm Leigh, a high school math teacher and the creator behind Leigh Teaches Math. I create classroom-ready resources designed to help teachers save time while helping students build confidence in challenging math concepts.

After many years—decades, actually... eesh!—of teaching high school math, I realized the best resources are the ones that help students understand why they're learning something, not just memorize procedures (although, let's be honest, there's always a little memorization involved!).

Like many teachers, I spent countless evenings creating lessons, tweaking activities, and searching for resources that truly fit my students. Eventually, I realized I could save other teachers that same time by sharing what was already working in my classroom.

I began creating the kinds of resources I wanted to use in my own classroom—materials that matched my students' needs and learning styles. I wanted lessons that kept students engaged, encouraged critical thinking, and gave them enough support to truly understand the mathematics instead of simply following steps.

Over the years, students' learning styles have changed dramatically. While mathematics itself hasn't changed, the way we teach it has. That's why I've created guided notes, exit tickets, hands-on activities, interactive Google Sheets, digital resources, and other classroom tools that help students actively explore mathematical ideas and make meaningful connections.

Today, I create resources for Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Statistics, and even a little Precalculus. Every lesson is designed with the same goal: helping teachers spend less time creating materials and more time doing what they do best—teaching.

I believe every student can learn mathematics when they're given the right tools, clear explanations, and opportunities to make meaningful connections. My hope is that these resources help students build confidence, develop independence, and discover that even challenging math concepts can make sense.

When I'm not creating math resources, you can usually find me spending time with my family, planning our next adventure, or hanging out with my four-legged assistant, who faithfully supervises my work... when she's awake, anyway. 🐾
